This collaborative project with another motion designer marked British American Tobacco’s celebration of World Vape Day. Designed with a documentarian tone, the video focused on delivering clear, professional messaging while minimising overt branding to maintain a neutral and credible stance.
The motion design drew inspiration from televised news reels, using clean, concise graphic elements to support the video’s content. While the initial concept featured more visually dynamic designs, client feedback prioritised simplicity and clarity to keep the focus on the messaging rather than the aesthetics.
An AI-generated voiceover was used to narrate the piece, bringing its own set of challenges. Adjustments were made to refine the timing and energy of the narration, ensuring it carried the appropriate tone to engage the audience without crossing into monotony.
Though the creative scope was more limited, the motion work complemented the video’s tone effectively, maintaining a professional flow throughout. Collaboration involved refining and aligning designs, making adjustments to some of the other motion designer’s sections, and ensuring the final product adhered to the client’s feedback while staying true to their corporate identity.
The result was a polished, business-like piece that balanced professionalism with subtle design flourishes, successfully delivering its intended message for World Vape Day.
